Another great Gifting Program story!

I received an e-mail from the Director of the Nurse Midwife Service at HCMC saying that her midwife/ co-worker Maggie, had been diagnosed with breast cancer and would be losing her hair to chemotherapy.  I shared with her how the program works and that I would accept donations on Maggie’s behalf to offset the cost of her wig purchase. Here’s a copy of the memo that was sent and how my phone began to ring.  The show of support from family, friends and co-workers was amazing!  She was able to choose a quality wig complete with care products and headwear.  Once again, tears accompanied this appointment when Maggie was told that her purchase was covered by those who love her.

Dear Friends of Maggie,

Shhh this is a secret from Maggie.

Maggie will begin the next phase of her journey toward a healthy life. Unfortunately, in the short term this will mean she will lose her lovely head of hair. We can all support Maggie by donating money for a lovely head of hair during this next phase of her journey.

This Friday we have an appointment for a wig fitting. I want Maggie to feel her support group of friends present with her when she is told that her wig is already paid for by us. If we all donate $20.00 this will allow her to get a top quality wig plus accessories for her to use during this time.

This needs to be done in the next few days so she has the account available on Friday. You may contact Jan at 952-405-8671 or email her at this link jan@itsstillme.com.  She will take a credit card over the phone and send you a receipt in the mail.

Thank you for your continued support to Maggie, Steve, and their family.
